BMW X5 gets stereo upgrade courtesy of Connects2
When installing a new head unit into a car it has long be the case that you have to make some compromises, often the loss of some factory features that are not compatible with the new tech being added to the vehicle. Connects2 pride themselves on removing these compromises, retaining features that would normally be lost.
Owners of BMW X5s should take note, we offer a fantastic upgrade kit allowing you to fit an aftermarket head unit whilst retaining the use of your multi-functional steering wheel, phone functionality and factory installed reversing camera (If equipped).
Suitable for use on 2013 to 2018 X5s the CTKBM40 kit includes everything you need to upgrade your stereo including a double din facia finished in black which allows you to integrate and retain the factory climate controls in to the new fascia, a universal patch lead to connect your new stereo to the C2 interface, a Fakra to Din antenna adapter with a phantom power supply to retain the use of the factory fitted antenna and a steering wheel interface which retains the use of the factory multi-functional steering wheel control buttons including phone, aux input and USB input. Also retained are the vehicle settings and parking sensor audio via the vehicles top screen.
Designed to be used in non-amplified vehicles with NBT systems (not EVO). An additional MOST extension lead (Part number: MOST-5M) is needed in order to retain certain select features (sold separately). This system does retain the OEM climate controls, warning chimes and parking sensor audio (via integrated speaker) and the voice commands via SWC (if aftermarket head unit supports it).
